About Me/Bio

Lukas James Bass (b. 2003) is a composer and saxophonist from Houston who is currently attending DePaul University in Chicago for his MM in Music Composition. He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BM in Music Composition and Saxophone Performance in 2026. His composition teachers have included Marilyn Shrude, Christopher Dietz, John Eagle and Adam Har-zvi. His saxophone teachers have included John Sampen, Garrett Evans and Sam Valancy. He has also studied oboe under Dwight Parry.
